HC Deb 21 June 1944 vol 401 cc168-9
13. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress has been made in the negotiations for transferring to neutral countries men who had been prisoners of war for three years or longer.

Mr. Eden

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend, the Member for Bournemouth. (Sir L. Lyle) on 3rd May to which I have at present nothing to add.

Mr. Lipson

In view of the fact that information about these negotiations has reached the men in the camps, and they are anxiously wondering what progress has been made, can my right hon. Friend say when he hopes to make a statement?

Mr. Eden

Unfortunately, I cannot, because it does not depend on me. It depends on the other parties in the negotiations.
