§ 50. Mr. Hugh Lawsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies in whom it is proposed to vest the power to raise revenue by taxation of incomes in the Colony of Gibraltar; and if it is proposed that the raising and expenditure of revenue is to be placed under the effective 1979 control of a legislative assembly elected democratically by the inhabitants of the Colony.
§ Colonel StanleyThe Government of Gibraltar will take the necessary powers by legislation. As regards the last part of the Question, I am considering in consultation with the Governor, proposals for giving the local people in Gibraltar a wider voice in the internal administration of the Colony.
