§ 50. Mr. Hugh Lawson
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies in whom it is proposed to vest the power to raise revenue by taxation of incomes in the Colony of Gibraltar; and if it is proposed that the raising and expenditure of revenue is to be placed under the effective 1979 control of a legislative assembly elected democratically by the inhabitants of the Colony.
§ Colonel Stanley
The Government of Gibraltar will take the necessary powers by legislation. As regards the last part of the Question, I am considering in consultation with the Governor, proposals for giving the local people in Gibraltar a wider voice in the internal administration of the Colony.
