HC Deb 07 June 1944 vol 400 c1333
16. Mr. Liddall

asked the Secretary. of State for Air if he has inquired into the messing and pay arrangements at a R.A.F. training depot, particulars of which have been supplied to him, and will he make a statement.

Sir A. Sinclair

Yes, Sir. The messing arrangements at the station referred to have been specially investigated. There have been no general complaints about the quality or adequacy of the messing and many airmen interviewed by the visiting officer spoke well of their diet. Certain minor improvements are however being made, and queueing for meals, which has been due mainly to limited accommodation, is being reduced. The pay arrangements have also been investigated. These are the same as at most Royal Air Force stations and afford no reasonable grounds for complaint.
