HC Deb 07 June 1944 vol 400 c1352
56. Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Minister of Food the principal foodstuffs now subsidised and the annual amount of subsidy in each case.

Colonel Llewellin

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by the Financial Secretary to the Treasury on 2nd February. The estimated current rates of subsidy show increases in respect of eggs, sugar and milk totalling approximately £15,000,000, thus bringing the total estimated cost of subsidies then given up to £221,000,000.
