HC Deb 06 June 1944 vol 400 c1198
61. Mr. Kirby

asked the President of the Board of Trade the extent to which costs have risen during the war in respect of coffins, cremations, burials and funeral expenses; what is the nature of the present price control of these items; and what is the policy of the Government for the immediate future on these matters.

Mr. Dalton

The Central Price Regulation Committee, at my request, are now inquiring into these matters and I am awaiting their recommendations.
