HC Deb 06 June 1944 vol 400 c1180
2. Mr. Hugh Lawson

asked the Secretary of State for War what length of time is spent in this country before fresh overseas posting by British soldiers who have returned here after being prisoners of war; and if the policy of the British Army is the same as that of the Dominions in this matter.

The Secretary of State for War (Sir James Grigg)

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the replies given to my hon. Friend the Member for Newton (Sir R. Young), on 25th May, and to my hon. Friend the Member for Clay Cross (Mr. Neal) on 24th May. I regret that I have no information about the practice of the Dominions in the matter of overseas postings in such cases.
