§ 32. Lieut.-Commander Hutchisonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the section of the Report of the Private Enterprise Sub-Committee of the Central Housing Advisory Committee dealing with the Small Dwellings Acquisition Act; and if he will now consider introducing legislation to raise the maximum value of a house for the purpose of the corresponding Act in Scotland.
Mr. ChapmanYes, Sir. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Health announced on 13th July that for the purpose of advances the Government have decided to reconsider the present limit of £800. The necessary amendment of the Scottish Act will probably be included in the Measure to be introduced in due course with regard to housing subsidies.
§ Lieut.-Commander HutchisonWhile thanking my hon. Friend for that reply, may I ask whether he can say if legislation will be introduced this Session?
Mr. ChapmanI do not think that it is likely that legislation will be introduced in this Session. The question of limits referred to in my hon. and gallant Friend's Question will probably have to wait until we have settled the size of the housing subsidy.
