Mr. Emmottasked the Secretary of State far War whether his attention has been drawn to a recent case in Kenya in which 52 Indians of the artisan class, serving with the local military authorities, are reported to have been sentenced to five years' penal servitude for mutiny by a public court-martial; and whether he is in a position to say what were the circumstances that resulted in the imposition of a sentence of this severity.
