5. Mr. Parker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the committee which is to consider the reform of the Patent Laws is empowered to investigate the records of patentees with a view to ascertaining whether the existing law has been used in a manner contrary to the public interest.

Mr. Dalton

An inquiry into this matter would certainly fall within the terms of reference of the committee.
