§ 27. Sir Leonard Lyleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the intentions of the Government with regard to double summer time in 1944.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonThis matter is under consideration, and I hope shortly to be in a position to make an announcement.
§ Sir L. LyleIn view of the fact that it is so important that people should have good holidays in the fifth year of the war, will the right hon. Gentleman give serious consideration to extending the time to the end of August? It will make such a difference.
§ Mr. MorrisonThere are arguments both ways. There are minority arguments, especially in relation to agriculture, which I think I must take into sympathetic consideration, but the matter will of course be considered.
