HC Deb 26 January 1944 vol 396 c667
9. Mr. Higgs

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that interned British airmen in Sweden are receiving 115 to 125 kronor per month and that the Canadians receive 200 kronor per month all deducted from their pay; and can he see his way to permit British airmen to receive an amount equal to the Canadians providing it is deducted from their pay.

Captain Balfour

Under arrangements recently introduced Royal Air Force airmen interned in Sweden may receive advances of pay within their net entitlement up to a maximum of 50 kronor a week. The amounts in issue at present to the men concerned vary between 40 and 50 kronor a week.
