HC Deb 20 January 1944 vol 396 c341
18. Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that the Association of Engineering and Shipbuilding Draughtsmen are excluded from representation on joint war production committees because of the objection of managements; and whether he will take steps to ensue that they should be represented in common with other groups of workers.

Mr. Bevin

Joint production committees are voluntary bodies established in accordance with agreements or arrangements made between the parties and their constitution is a matter for settlement between them. I understand that in the engineering industry questions of additional representation are at present the subject of discussion between those concerned.
