§ 34. Major-General Sir Alfred Knoxasked the Postmaster-General if his attention has been drawn to the increase in the pilfering of parcels sent by post and if additional steps will be taken to stop this.
Mr. GrimstonYes, Sir. The experience of the Post Office, in common with that of other carriers, is that pilfering has increased seriously since the war began. It is facilitated by war-time conditions, particularly by the effect of the black-out, and has caused my right hon. Friend considerable concern. All practicable steps have been taken and will continue to be taken to effect an improvement.
§ Sir A. KnoxIf they are discovered are they prosecuted?
