§ Sir J. AndersonThe composition of the National Debt on the 31st March of each year is published in the Finance Accounts of the United Kingdom. The total of the debt at 31st March, 1938, was £8,026 millions. The approximate total at 31st December, 1943, was £19,237 millions, of which £4,948 millions consisted of floating debt.
