HC Deb 22 February 1944 vol 397 c623
Mr. Speaker

I have to inform the House that I have received a telegram addressed to the House of Commons from the Italian National Congress sitting at Bari. I do not think it would be in accordance with precedent if I were to read the terms of the telegram to the House. This method of announcement has always been reserved for communications of a ceremonial and non-political character from officially constituted Parliamentary bodies or their Presidents. I am causing the telegram to be placed in the Library, where Members will be able to read it for themselves.
