HC Deb 22 February 1944 vol 397 cc638-9
24. Mr. Bellenģer

asked the Secretary of State for War whether there is any minimum period during which men returned to home stations from abroad can be retained in this country.

Sir J. Griģģ

Individuals return from overseas for a number of reasons and there is no hard and fast rule which covers all cases. In general, however, men returned to this country on medical or compassionate grounds stay here at least until their circumstances enable them to go abroad again and men returned on account of their long service overseas are usually kept here for at least six months.
