asked the Secretary of State for War if he intends to exempt agricultural workers, who will be working long hours during the forthcoming summer months, from Home Guard training.

I hope that it will be possible to issue the same instructions as have been issued in previous years.

Mr. Hiģģs

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the industrial worker, when he does 60 hours a week, is exempt from Home Guard duties? Could he not give the same definite ruling with regard to the agricultural worker?

Sir J. Griģģ

The arrangements which have been made in previous years have worked perfectly well and to the entire satisfaction of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture.
