§ 25. Sir William Waylandasked the Minister of Health if, considering 3,500,000 houses were built from 1919 to September, 1939, he will give the basis on which it is estimated that 4,000,000 more houses are now required, excluding houses damaged by enemy action but capable of repairs, as the total of 7,500,000 new houses represents a newly-built house for every family of six people in Great Britain since the end of the last war.
