§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Mabane)I regret I am not able to disclose the figures of imports for which my hon. Friend asks. The maximum wholesale price of Spanish onions is at the rate of 50s. 6d. per cwt. The maximum retail price is 6½d. per lb. They have been allocated to the Armed Forces; to the Merchant Navy;. and, through wholesale distribution committees to retailers in Scotland, Northern Ireland, 29 South Wales and the counties of Northumberland, Durham, Cumberland and Westmorland.
