HC Deb 09 February 1944 vol 396 c1762
44. Mr. Tinker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the serious position regarding riddles for householders; and whether consideration has been given, in the interests of fuel efficiency, to the releasing of materials for the making of riddles.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Captain Waterhouse)

The Government Departments concerned provide ample material for riddles. Output is only restricted by the labour involved in making them up.
