§ 84. Captain Gammansasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he has considered the resolution passed at the 7th Congress of the Associated West Indian Chambers of Commerce, held in Barbados in June, 1944, that they consider the time opportune for the introduction of a unified West Indian currency, based on the decimal system; and what action be proposes to take in this matter.
§ Colonel StanleyI have read the resolution with interest. The subject is one which I had myself re-opened with West Indian Governments some time ago. I have not yet received the views of all the Colonial Governments concerned, and until I have done so I shall not be able to consider the next step.
