§ 70. Mr. Ralph Ethertonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has now been made in disbanding the organisation and offices of Regional Commissioners.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonNot counting 95 staff now under notice of termination of appointment, the staff of Regional Commissioners' offices, including operational staff, is 1,964. This is a reduction of 40 per cent. since July, 1942, when the staff of Regional offices was at its righest and a reduction of 26 per cent. since September, 1944. Further substantial reductions of staff will not be possible whilst the present dangers from air attacks continue.
