HC Deb 07 December 1944 vol 406 c702
25. Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that in Nelson's Cement Works at Stockton, Kayes Cement Works at Stockton, Rugby Portland Cement Works, New Bilton, and Harbury Cement Works, Bishops Itchington, the average rate of pay of the men engaged is less than £4 a week; and whether, since these works enjoy the protection of the Essential Work Order, he will take steps to see them brought up to a higher level.

Mr. Bevin

I am making inquiries and will communicate with the hon. Member.
