HC Deb 06 December 1944 vol 406 c521
37. Mr. Kenneth Lindsay

asked the Secretary of State for Air how many of the 11,000 teachers in the R.A.F. are now serving as education officers; how many are engaged on technical instruction; how many are employed as physical education instructors; and how many could be spared, without affecting the efficiency of the fighting service, to repair the ravaged system of national education.

Sir A. Sinclair

The answer to the first part of the Question is "None, Sir." I regret that the information asked for in the second and third parts of the Question is not readily available. As for the last part of the Question, I can see no immediate prospect, in view of war requirements and the man-power position, of extending the present arrangements for release from the Royal Air Force.
