HC Deb 06 December 1944 vol 406 c513
40. Dr. Little

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether, at the International Air Conference in Chicago, the British delegates pressed the suitability and convenience of Northern Ireland as a centre for a transatlantic airport; and with what success.

Sir A. Sinclair

The location of airports has not been among the subjects discussed at the Chicago Conference.

Dr. Little

May I ask whether the claims of Northern Ireland for a transAtlantic airport will be strongly pressed?

Sir A. Sinclair

That, as I say, was not a matter discussed at the Chicago Conference, but Northern Ireland was separately represented at the Montreal Conference between the Dominions.
