asked the Minister of Food if he is now able to make it easier for consumers, where they so desire, to change the retailers from whom rationed goods must be purchased.

No, Sir. I am afraid it is not yet possible.

Have the food officers discretionary power?

We do not encourage it. Consumers have a chance of re-registration once a year. It gives a lot more work if they are continuously changing, but if there is a good reason for it it is allowed.
