HC Deb 02 August 1944 vol 402 c1379
44. Mr. G. Strauss

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress is being made with the planning of social insurance schemes in the various Colonies.

Colonel Stanley

I propose shortly to address all Colonial Governments on the subject and to invite them to consider the matter further in the light of my views on the several possibilities of Governmental action in different types of Colonial conditions.
