asked the Minister of Supply how many tons of paper salvage has been collected during the past 12 months; what purposes it is used for; and what amount of articles have been made out of it.

675,000 tons of paper salvage of all kinds have been collected. Out of this, 11 million books have been provided for the Services and damaged libraries. The bulk of the salvage is repulped, yielding some 575,000 tons of paper-making, and board-making material.
