§ 17. Mr. Mander
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action he proposes to take with reference to the recommendations made in the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justices' Clerks [Cmd. 6507].
§ The Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Herbert Morrison)
I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Spelthorne (Sir K. Blaker) on 6th April.
§ Mr. Mander
Regarding that section of the recommendations to be put into operation without legislation, are they to be put into operation in the near future?
§ Mr. Morrison
That partly depends upon the justices, with whom we are suitably communicating. I can assure the hon. Member that, in so far as I can take action, I will certainly do so, with all practicable speed.
