HC Deb 25 April 1944 vol 399 cc626-7
54. Mr. Thorne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much of the Income Tax was unpaid at the end of the year 31st March.

Sir J. Anderson

I think I should reserve until later in the day any remarks I may have to make about the national finances.

Mr. Thorne

Should not hon. Members know what amount of Income Tax has not been paid up to the end of March?

Sir J. Anderson

I shall be having something to say later about what has been paid, and I think that will answer the hon. Member's Question.
