HC Deb 20 April 1944 vol 399 c350
14. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India will publish a Report or comments on the Tata Plan of Economic Development; and to what extent proposals in that plan are likely to be adopted by the Government or incorporated in any plan of their own for post-war reconstruction.

Mr. Amery

I think I must leave it to the Government of India to deal in their own way and at their own time with the suggestions outlined in the interesting and boldly conceived plan referred to by the hon. Member.

Mr. Sorensen

Is a report to be made on these various proposals?

Mr. Amery

The Government of India are keeping before them all the time the question of reconstruction and will, no doubt, give careful consideration to these proposals.
