HC Deb 05 April 1944 vol 398 cc2007-8
61. Mr. Martin

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of further changes made by competent dietitians into the composition of the present standard loaf and its effect on health; and whether, in view of the unsatisfactory position which this dispute about the loaf is causing, he will invite some independent experts to make a report on this matter.

Colonel Llewellin

I regret that I do not understand to what my hon. Friend's Question refers. If he will send me particulars I will look into the matter and write to him

Mr. Loftus

Can the Minister inform us whether artificial vitamins and calcium are still added to bread?

Colonel Llewellin

That is a different question.
