HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 c394
Mr. Edmund Harvey

On a point of Order. Yesterday we had two Ministerial replies referring us to an answer that was to be given to-day by the Home Secretary on the question of the colour bar and the legal obligations of hotel keepers. The Home Secretary has had no opportunity of answering a series of Questions on this important point, and I would like to ask whether he could make a statement to the House to-day, seeing that the Minister referred to the answers which were going to be given?

Mr. Speaker

I have had no notice that any statement was to be made. My permission has not been asked, and I should naturally like an opportunity to consider the matter before consenting to a statement.
