§ 10. Sir Leonard Lyleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has now been officially informed whether Sweden has suspended transit facilities for German military freight as well as for German troops going to and returning from Norway; and whether he is satisfied that German troops are not using these facilities in the guise of tourists?
§ Mr. Eden:As regards the first part of the Question, the Swedish Government have officially stated that the facilities for transit of German troops and war materials through Sweden were finally terminated on 20th August. As regards the second part of the Question, the Swedish Government have informed His Majesty's Government that they have instituted suitable measures to prevent the use of these facilities by German military personnel dressed as civilians.
