§ 40. Mr. Edmund Harveyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether meals and milk are now to be provided for schoolchildren in British Guiana in other places than Georgetown; whether this arrangement has already come into operation; and what charge is being made to the children?
§ Colonel StanleyA scheme to provide meals for schoolchildren outside Georgetown is being placed before the Legislative Council. It is proposed to supply meals free to necessitous children and to charge one penny a meal to others. Milk is not generally included in the scheme on account of shortage, but the possibility of supplying it will be kept in view.
