Sir J. GriģģThe answer to the first part of the Question is 664. I am glad to say that this is only a small proportion of those who might have chosen to exercise their right to be discharged. The remainder are all experienced members of the Auxiliary Territorial Service, and I find it difficult to believe that in general they could do more urgent national work elsewhere.
