HC Deb 25 November 1943 vol 395 c72
Mr. Arthur Greenwood

May I ask the Deputy Prime Minister whether he will state the Business of the House for our next series of Sittings?

The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

The House will be asked to sit an additional day. The Debate on the Address will be continued throughout the series of Sittings. It may meet the convenience of the House, subject to Mr. Speaker's approval, to deal with general matters on the first Sitting Day and specific subjects of Amendments on the remaining days. A further statement will be made on the first Sitting Day of our next series of Sittings.

Mr. Greenwood

Can my right hon. Friend say whether arrangements have been made for Debates on the Home Secretary's action regarding the Mosley case and on the Dominions?

Mr. Attlee

I think that is a matter for Mr. Speaker.

Sir Percy Harris

But is it not only fair that the Home Secretary should have an early opportunity of justifying his position and explaining and defending himself to this House?

Mr. R. C. Morrison

My right hon. Friend did not say whether the additional day was to be at the end or at the beginning of our next series of Sittings.

Mr. Attlee

At the end.
