§ Mr. LytteltonYes, Sir. I have authorised an increase of 2½ per cent. of pre-war consumption in the allocation to each publisher, and an addition to the reserve to meet special needs. As in the 661 case of newspapers and periodicals, I shall expect the publishers to give special attention to the needs of the Services.
Mr. MacleanIs it not the case that educational books are in very short supply, and that in many schools one book has to be used by five pupils? Does the right hon. Gentleman think the additional allocation he is making will be sufficient to cover the quantities required?
