§ The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Bevin)Members of the Women's Land Army stand in relation to the scheme for further education and training in the same position as workers in the war industries. While the scheme is intended primarily for persons in the categories named in the published list, a number of places under the scheme will be available for persons who have done war work of other kinds.
§ Mrs. KeirIs my right hon. Friend aware of the great disappointment and dissatisfaction felt by members of the Women's Land Army that their great service is not specially mentioned in his scheme, and would he be prepared to reconsider this matter?
§ Mr. BevinI am afraid that I cannot include the Women's Land Army in the same category as the Services. They are exactly in the same position as munition workers, and there would have to be a mention of everyone if I set a precedent here.
