HC Deb 30 March 1943 vol 388 c23
27. Mrs. Hardie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware of the extortionate rents being charged for furnished apartments in Scotland; and whether he will take some action to regulate these rents, in view of the serious shortage of houses?

Mr. Johnston

I have received several representations on the subject, including one recently from Glasgow Corporation. I am considering whether, and if so, what action can usefully be taken.
