asked the Minister of Supply how many farmers in Northampton are to grow flax; how many acres will be cultivated; and whether any other farmers in other parts of the country will grow flax?

Some 350 farmers in Northamptonshire will be growing flax this year under contract for the Ministry of Supply on about 5,500 acres. Flax is also being grown under contract by some 5,000 farmers in other parts of Great Britain.
