HC Deb 24 June 1943 vol 390 c1302
57. Sir Reginald Blair

asked the Home Secretary whether wardens, who neither enrol nor are directed to undergo a Home Guard training course, are entitled to compensation, in event of injury, while voluntarily taking a course; and is it at the same rate as the Home Guard?

Mr. H. Morrison

Wardens are not required to undergo Home Guard training unless they have been enrolled in the Home Guard service. Compensation for personal injury sustained during such training is payable to wardens only if they have been so enrolled, and then the prevailing conditions of the Home Guard service will apply.
