asked the Minister of Health whether land purchased now by local authorities for post-war housing will rank for subsidy?

The cost of land will certainly continue to be taken into account in determining the amounts of subsidies.

Mr. Lipson

Has my right hon. Friend decided the amount of subsidy?

Mr. Brown

No, but local authorities are thoroughly familiar with the position.

Mr. Bossom

Is my right hon. Friend going to base this subsidy on the pre-1939 value or on the present value of the cottages?

asked the Minister of Health whether local authorities, in their plans for post-war housing, should proceed on the assumption that there will be a Government subsidy?
