Mr. Rostron Duckworthasked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered the resolutions adopted by many local authorities at the instance of the British Limbless Ex-service Men's Association, of which copies have been sent to him, urging early legislation giving effect to the recommendations of the Interdepartmental Committee on the Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Disabled Persons; and whether he is receiving reports from the local authorities and private firms who have undertaken surveys of all work done in their establishments, with a view to the employment of a fair proportion of disabled persons in appropriate jobs?
§ Mr. BevinThe answer to the first part of the Question is in the affirmative, and the preparation of legislation is under consideration. In regard to the second part, I have not yet received reports of any surveys of the kind referred to, but I shall be glad to consider any results that are brought to my notice.
