§ Colonel Sir George Courthope (Forestry Commissioner)A fire occurred in the middle of May on 33 acres of the Forestry Commission plantations at Laughton, North Lincolnshire. Approximately 50,000 young trees were destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
