HC Deb 29 July 1943 vol 391 c1789
97. Sir T. Moore

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he can give the House a statement in regard to the part so far played by the troops of our Dominions in the various theatres of war?

The Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (Mr. Emrys-Evans)

The outstanding achievements of Dominion troops in so many theatres of war are fully recognised and deeply appreciated both by the House and by the general public. They have also received on very many occasions the warmest tributes from my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in his periodic surveys of the war. In these circumstances my right hon. Friend does not think that any useful purpose would be served by the issue of a statement of the kind contemplated by the hon. and gallant Member.
