HC Deb 28 July 1943 vol 391 cc1573-4
56. Mr. Hewlett

asked the Minister of Production whether he proposes to extend the system of suggestion boxes in factories; and, if so, on what lines?

Mr. Lyttelton

My colleagues and I have done and will continue to do everything possible to encourage the use of suggestion boxes in factories. Several articles on this subject have appeared in the "Production and Engineering Bulletin" and a number more are planned. The Bulletin has a wide circulation among firms in engineering and allied industries.

Mr. Simmonds

Would my right hon. Friend emphasise to industry that that system is of no use unless adequate rewards are given for suggestions which are adopted?

Commander Locker-Lampson

Can we have a suggestion box for the Cabinet?
