§ 29. Mr. Keelingasked the Secretary of State for War how many reports from the searchers for men missing in the Middle East have been received since the first party of searchers and the new Red Cross Commissioner arrived there early this year?
25. Mr. Graham Whiteasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfield that the organisation for searching for the missing is working effectively in the Middle East and North African Commands?
§ Sir J. GriggThe reports furnished by the searchers of the Organisation referred to form only part of the evidence on which the fate of missing men is determined by my Department. The reports are rendered in the first instance to the local military authorities. I understand that a considerable number has already been so furnished. A special report on the progress of the work up to date has been called for by telegram.
§ Mr. KeelingHave the reports which have reached the military authorities been passed on to the Red Cross in London so 676 that they may be co-ordinated with other reports?
§ Sir J. GriggI do not know whether they have been, but they certainly will be.
