HC Deb 20 July 1943 vol 391 c689
49. Sir T. Moore

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider setting up a special committee to inquire into the disparity of treatment between civilian households and officers' messes of the Services at home in respect of their respective domestic requirements?

The Prime Minister

No, Sir.

Sir T. Moore

Does the right hon. Gentleman think it is fair that in many cases the last domestic assistance is withdrawn from old and infirm people to provide domestic help for young officers who are very capable of looking after themselves?

The Prime Minister

I am not prepared to make the change suggested.
