asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is now in a position to state the number of German Mark VI Tiger tanks captured in Tunisia?

Sir J. Grigg

The final count of captured material has not yet been received from North Africa. It is believed that about 40 Tiger tanks were identified in battle in Tunisia and that nearly all were destroyed.

Mr. Stokes

Were they all exactly the same type, or were there several marks?

Sir J. Grigg

I could not answer that question, but from the complete one that I saw, and from fragments that I saw, they seemed to be all the same mark.

Were any of them the Churchill tank type?
